Digitisation work (on around 18,000 - 20,000 images) will be undertaken on partners' sites. Two main types of images will be produced: master images (typically TIFs at 300 - 600 dpi) and screen images (typically JPGs at 72 - 100 dpi). Screen images will be stored on the online searchable database for users to access through the web site, together with metadata (descriptive information about the original items and the images). The project Researchers are responsible for the selection of the images at all STW partners and will also supervise digitisation work during the lifetime of the project.
