Admission charge: Yes (free to English Heritage members). Guided tour included in admission charge.

The mill operated as a bobbin manufactory from 1835 to 1971, and was one of approximately 100 in the district. The mill was purchased by English Heritage and opened as a museum in 1985. the museum features working machinery and exhibits which relate to the story of the manufacture of wooden bobbins used in the Lancashire cotton industry.
